Fares

What are the criteria for applying the adult fare or child fare?
  • ・Adult = Individuals aged 12 or older excluding elementary school children
  • ・Child = Elementary school children
Preschoolers (preschoolers aged between 1 and under 6), Infants (under 1) are free of charge.
However, child fare will be applied in the following cases.
  • 1. If a preschooler or infant occupies a seat (first class cabin of a car ferry, jetfoil, second class cabin or higher class cabin of a high-speed car ferry, high-speed ferry)
  • 2. From the third child or onward accompanied by one adult using the second class cabin of a car ferry
    From the second child or onward accompanied by one adult using the first class cabin or higher class of a car ferry, jetfoil, second class cabin or higher class of a high-speed car ferry or a high-speed ferry
  • 3. A preschooler with no adult accompanied

Can I use my credit card?
For the payment of your passenger fare and vehicle transportation fare, we accept the following credit cards.
(JCB/American Express/Diner's Club/DC/Visa/Master/UC)
If the load packed on my car is sticking out the rear end of the car, what happens to the fare?
The length of the load that sticks out of the car will be measured and added with the length of your car to calculate the fare.
How much is the refund fee?
If your boarding ticket is still valid, we will refund your payment, however, you will be responsible for the administration fee for the process.
The administration fee per passenger ticket for the refund is a minimum of 200 yen and a maximum 30% of the price listed on your ticket.
  • ※The amount of the administration fee changes based on the number of days left from the departure date listed on the passenger ticket and the date of refund requested.
    • ・If the refund is requested until seven days prior to the departure date per passenger ticket → 200 yen
    • ・Until two days prior to the departure date → 10% of the amount listed on the passenger ticket
    • ・From two days until the departure time → 30% of the amount listed on the passenger ticket

Facilities

Is there Wi-Fi on the ferry?
Free Wi-Fi connection (free public Wi-Fi) is available on car ferries, high-speed car ferries and jetfoil ferries.
  • ※Depending on the ferry, the access point area and the way to use Wi-Fi are different.
  • ※While traveling across the ocean, the Wi-Fi service may not be available depending on the transmission status and connection status.

Is there a restaurant or store on the ferry?
Car ferries have a cafeteria serving light meals (Ramen, Soba, rice bowls, etc.) and a general store. High-speed car ferry has a general store. There are other ferries that do not have any of those as well.
No restaurants or stores are available on the jetfoil and high-speed ferries.
Is there a nursing room?
Car ferries have a nursing room. If you plan to use the nursing room on the high-speed car ferry, please ask the staff at the information counter on the ferry.
If you want to use it, please ask the staff at the information counter on the ferry.
Both the jetfoil and high-speed ferries have a nursing room.
When using the nursing room, make sure to close the curtain (for your privacy).
I understand that all cabins are non-smoking but is there any smoking area on the ferry?
Car ferries have a smoking room.
Jetfoil, high-speed car ferry and high-speed ferry do not have a smoking room available.
Is there a restroom for physically disabled people?
Car ferries, high-speed car ferry and high-speed ferry have a restroom for physically disabled people.
Jetfoil ferries have none.

Boarding

What is required for taking the boarding procedure?
When you are boarding with your vehicle, you need to have your vehicle inspection certificate with you.
Fill out the vehicle transportation application form available at the ticket counter and submit it to the ticket counter along with the vehicle inspection certificate.

How early should I have my boarding procedure completed?
For passengers boarding with vehicles, the boarding procedure must be completed at least 40 minutes before the departure time.
For passengers boarding with no vehicles, the boarding procedure must be completed at least 30 minutes before the departure time.
It's terrible weather and I would like to know if the ferry is in service.

Around the port

Is there any restaurant or store at the port?
[Niigata port/Ryotsu port] - There are restaurants, Soba food stalls and general stores.
[Naoetsu port] - There is a Soba food stall and a general store.
[Ogi port] - There is a restaurant (close to the port), Soba food stall and a general store.
[Teradomari port] - None
[Akadomari port] - Only a general store is available.

Is there parking at the port?
There is a pay parking lot. For more details, please see each port listed under "Boarding Port."
Is there a restroom for physically disabled people?
Each port has a restroom for physically disabled people available.
