Yamato大和の家

Originally built in the early Meiji era, Yamato is a renovated house where Shuho Nagano, the first physician in Sado Island to administer smallpox vaccinations, was born.
The house has a robust central pillar that has supported the structure for over the generations. Visitors are welcomed by the “Omae,“a distinctive layout of traditional Sado Island’s residences historically used for ceremonies such as weddings and funerals. The dining and kitchen areas and the bathroom have been fully renovated, offering a beautifully refined and luxurious space where guests can experience the enduring essence of tradition of Sado Island.
